The relationship between a client and a counsellor is protected by law. Information can’t be disclosed without written consent, except in the following situations:


The counsellor suspects there is a child or elder in need of protection, in which case the therapist is required by law to report this to the appropriate authorities,


The coounsellor suspects the client is in danger of seriously harming themselves or has threated to seriously harm another person,


If a client's records are supeoned by a court of law,


If a third party payor requires a report, in which case you will be informed prior to the start of services.


The employees privacy is protected when using the Employee and Family Assistance Program. Employers are only given statistical reports three times a year. No identifying information about clients is  included.
